Good Good Father (for Little Ones)

Good Good Father (for Little Ones), book review, kids books, chris tomlin, pat barrett, book look, via bella

This is a very cute little book that is perfect for little kids. It is very warm and inviting.
It is a great bed time story for little kids because it shares the very things that we find in good dads and what the value is.

This is a great book to equivalent to Full House. Like a bed time story Michelle would get from Uncle Jesse and ask him to read again.

A good father is like:

A king....

A warrior...

A teacher....

A doctor...

A farmer...

A musician....

A friend...

A leader...

Something that was brought up in a review I saw (which actually made me pick this book) was their frustration that this book was about an earthy father. Not the heavenly one, God, that they wanted to be all about.

I LOVED that it described about our earthy fathers and what children should expect of their fathers. All these roles are not just for mothers.

As a mother, I really appreciate this because societal standards expect that mums do it all and be all things to their children. Slowly, social and cultural expectations are changing more and more now that mums are working outside the home too.

Dads can do all these things.... just as a mum can.

Book Description
"Inspired by the #1 hit song “Good Good Father,” as heard on Chris Tomlin’s new album
“Oh, I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think you’re like . . . but I’ve heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night . . . and you tell me that you’re pleased . . . and that I’m never alone. You’re a good good Father.”
Experience the truth of God’s love for His children in refreshing, heartwarming ways through the children’s board book Good Good Father for Little Ones, illustrated with stunning art by Lorna Hussey and penned by Grammy Award-winning Christian music artist Chris Tomlin and Pat Barrett.
With sweet, rhyming text, Good Good Father for Little Ones explores many of the attributes that make God such a good, good Father: like a warrior, He protects you; like a teacher, He helps you learn and grow; like a doctor, He makes you feel better; like a farmer, He provides the food you need; like a musician, He brings you joy. Most of all, a good, good Father loves you!
Based on the children’s picture book Good Good Father, this precious rhyming adaptation will leave little ones with a greater assurance that God truly is a good, good Father and they are loved by Him."

I give this book ★★★★★ out of five!
