Reading Eggs

My youngest son and I get to review Reading Eggs.  Which is great because my son is on the cusp of being able to read himself. I wanted to make it more fun for him to learn.

The review we are doing is for 1 student but can be used for multiple children if you pick that option.

This definitely did not disappoint.

My son loved it so much I had a hard time taking him off the computer to go pick up his older brother. He was proud to make the achievements along the way and it was presented in a fun way. He seemed to progress at a fast pace too so it was easy for him while he was learning. Sometimes, schools can make it too hard on kids to learn and they do hit bumps but this was a fun supplement for him to practice.

In a day in age where we are academically driven to do our best, we need something that will help encourage and sustain reading and math abilities and Reading Eggs does this for the kids. Which is why mine was glued to trying to achieve the next level because it was fun for him.

Reading Eggs has three different levels you can choose from.

Reading Eggs Junior- Ages 2-4
Reading Eggs- Ages 3-7
Reading Eggspress- 7-13

I would even say that this should be used in classrooms and not limited to English speakers but also to English language learners.

They have a placement test which I have to say, for my son who doesn't like tests, really appreciated and was able to test directly into the level he was going to be challenged at. This I appreciate as a parent. Some programs start off with the basics. This one does if you need it, but if you test out of it, you are pulled down with the weight of what your child already knows. This is a huge benefit.

They also have Mathseeds which is great too.

Since my kids doing online learning, this was helpful for my son since he already knew how to work the computer. (In fact, when he was a toddler, he changed my settings to Mandarin, lol... Needless to say, he is well versed). Reading online may sound counter-intuitive but Reading Eggs makes it fun. They are able to play games to learn and be able to match things up like words and meanings.

What is nice that is beyond just doing the online there are some awesome print outs that you can do do. This is super helpful since not all kids learn solely by using online platforms. Some kids need both platforms or medias to be able to learn their best.

From Reading Eggs about their *new* product, which is their program guides.

"I wanted to inform you that yesterday we released a brand new set of program guides that specifically support homeschoolers! These can be downloaded free right now from your parent dashboard (homepage after signing in). They are listed under the Bonus Material section as seen in the screenshot below.

The colorful and detailed week-by-week overviews make it easy for you to comprehensively cover and track essential learning outcomes for children in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. Each printable homeschool guide provides a 36-week teaching and learning sequence for Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. It maps online lessons, books, quizzes and assessments to help you plan your child’s learning every step of the way. Best of all, each guide lists reference books in the Reading Eggspress library to complement online learning, and help you expand new ideas and concepts.

I know this will be a useful tool for many homeschool families.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!"
