The Million-Dollar, One-Person Business

The Million-Dollar, One-Person Business: Make Great Money. Work the Way You Like. Have the Life You Want.

I was very intrigued to look at this book.

We are coming to a new age where sitting and depending on the jobs that will be able to fulfil what we need and make our standard of living livable have diminished greatly. Where the cost of living, inflation and what is not only available on the job market but also in the pay don't match up, we have problems. Add that to a mixture of social and cultural standards changing for both men and women, you easily have a shift that needs to happen. This barely accounts for one of the biggest shifts which are technology.

And with this comes a new era when technology became more advanced that we all are seeking to make income in a new way. These new ways becoming more popular and is by far exceeding the percentages of jobs becoming open in the ways that we are used to.

So I'm trying to start my own business as well. I actually wanted to read and review this book because there is not enough knowledge out there that can't be useful in some way.

In reading this book my hope is to have a better understanding but also to get ideas.

Part of the book feels like a history lesson with tidbits of advice. While this can be super helpful I felt like there was less of a proactive approach to the book and more of a classroom setting style of teaching through writing about the topic through studies, research and numbers. This is great, but just not what I was initially expecting.

As I continued on the book that was bits of advice that I felt were really helpful and insightful for one to think about. Especially given that her goal is try to show and tell how different businesses did. So this book isn't just for one kind of start up business. It is for many.

As the book goes on I actually find that the storytelling method is actually very helpful in understanding, not just the idea that she has but to understand them from a personal perspective through a story.

She even has some great pieces of wisdom about how to rearrange the thinking that one has when trying to start a business and tries to give some practical advice in that storytelling mode.

This was not the book I was initially expecting to read but it was super helpful and I still think it's a great book.

I give this book ☁☁☁☁ out of 5.
