365 Devotions for Finding Rest

Your kids won't listen...

The bills need to be paid...

Your work keeps piling up....

Your volunteer positions are taxing your time...

You are up to your gills in frustration and daily stress that you don't know if it's sunny or raining outside.

Then this is a great devotional book for you to re evaluate your sleep, your rest, and your life.

365 Devotions for Finding Rest , Book Review, Via Bella Top Reads, Christina Vinson, Book Look Bloggers, Rest, What does it mean to rest, New years resolutions

On January 1st, many people make new year's resolutions. Usually they have to do with weight, work, other kinds of goals. But the truth of the matter is that none of that will matter if we don't rest our bodies. We can overwork them which is how we get to the place we are where we are making resolutions in the first place!

I like this so much better actually than the Leadership Promises for Everyday (A Daily Devotional).

This one was more relaxed in how it was written. It isn't preachy like the leadership promises one was. And you can modify anything you don't agree with. Ie: Instead of saying: "Take more time with you God" you can say "Take more time for me with the universe".

It is practical and down to earth with quick one liners to reaffirm to yourself why you need to rest and that you can take care of you. With the day in age we live in and what feels like ninety million things to do, you can finally take your time. You time. In a one liner and practice it all day to bring yourself to a state of rest again.

It is really and honest and a quick read.

This is a great present for any overworked mum-- I say that because this is going to be my Christmas present from me to me. I basically have three kids (myself) 24/7 with little breaks, I work, I volunteer, and I home school. That is a stress party waiting to happen.

If I don't take care of me, I can't take care of or lead anyone else. Period.

The truth hurts sometimes, doesn't it? But with this, the truth never felt so freeing and able-bodied. Meaning, that I can finally give myself permission and guidance to take rest in a more concrete way. Not watching YouTube, not trying to just sit in silence. No. Something more guided to help.

So my first new years resolution to myself is to learn how to rest and forgive myself more.

I highly encourage this read!

I can't wait to start doing this First of January in 2017!
