Cookbook!
I don't get to review many cook books so this is going to be fun.
My daughter actually loves to cook so I know she is going to love this. Even for the basic meals she wants to help chip in and take over making it. It has gotten to the point that she has her "special" ingredients that she puts into the eggs. I don't even know what they are... don't ask me.
It starts off in "her kitchen" and she gives kitchen tips and charts, even menu ideas. She goes through her favourite tools, favourite ingredients. One of my favourite tips is this:
"Toss lemon and lime peels in the garbage disposal instead of throwing them out. They will help clear debris and give off a good odor."
Who knew that ^, right? I didn't!
She does measurement coversions, talks about oven temperatures, and how to half a recipe.
Her recipes are in the follow categories:
a) Breakfast
b) Snack and Appetizers
c) Entrees
d) Sides, Sauces, and Seasonings
e) Desserts
One of my favourite categories here is d, the sides sauces and seasonings. I love my seasonings but sometimes they are honestly way more money than they should be. So doing homemade versions are an easy way to get more bang for your buck. You can literally go buy individual spices then have much more by combining them than just buying one with all of them in it.
I LOVE these recipes-- I have not heard of some of these recipes. Like, "Rosemary Grapefruit Puff Pancake" for breakfast. I love this idea! (That and I may have some very sad grapefruit in my house right now, ha).
Okay, I am DROOLING over these recipes, guys...
Like, seriously!!!!
I have read many cook books but I am impressed genuinely by some of these recipes and can't wait to try them!!!
On top of that, the pictures are very vivid. They pages are thick and you know the book is going to last. The cover is very nice as well. It's a hardcover (always bonus points for that).
All in all...
I give this book ❋❋❋❋❋ out of five!
