The Book of Joe

Uncle Joe. The Joe that America has fallen in love with. That is who this book is about. Yes, the 44th Vice President of the United  States of America.

What I didn't realise is that this book is written by the same author who wrote a book I reviewed a while back about Alexander Hamilton.

The boy next door image is very real for Joe and not a just for image.

This book goes through his childhood- how he went to Catholic school, his speech problem, how he came from a working-class family, and so much more.

The three sections of the book are the startup as he was growing up, his life and work as a senator, and being veep or VP of the most powerful nation in the world.

What is really cool is reading about more of the guy- the humanity in him. It's important that we realise the people in power are just people, just like us. He gave advise to others and inspired them to do their best and be their best not just in their career but also in their community.

Who can't love a guy that doesn't drink because his family battles it and he applies the same rule to many things... including ''not using any substance as a (chemical) crutch''.

Even tells the story of how he knew who he was going to marry off of first sight. That is a beautiful thing.

This is an intriguing read actually and an easy one at that. It is a great coffee table book and a great book to gift to those who have learned to like Joe Biden the way that the rest of us have. A human being with an incredible story that we can all learn from and be inspired by.

I give this book a five out of five.
