Reading Eggs Essentials for 2nd Grade

We get to review Reading Eggs including one of the workbooks; specifically 200 Essential Reading Skills for Second Grade.

When you go into your hub or reading eggs he will see that's broken down into different age groups. The age groups are two to four and then ages 3 to 7 and then ages 7 to 13. My son is in the second grade and is 7 years old. So he's right on the edge of Reading Eggs and Reading Eggspress.

Online you can take assessments to determine the reading age of your child or the phonics skills or their knowledge of sight words when they are between kindergarten and 2nd grade. For the older kids, you can go to a more advanced level which will start going into more detail about comprehension spelling grammar review and really challenged the kids to learn further.

There's also mathseeds that you can use as well on the website and that is for ages 3 to 9.

For any parent regardless if you homeschool or if your kid is a brick-and-mortar school that is great about this program is that if your kid is behind or needs further challenging you can always come to this program regardless if they are 10 years old and working in the seven-year-old program because any additional work that they need will help them succeed in the long run.

Don't forget that if you go to the website to readingeggs.com you can actually try this out for yourself and see if it's something you want for your family and you get a free trial for a month.

For the 200 essential reading skills for 2nd grade my son was able to sit and get a lot of the pages done and I liked the way that it was set up. It was set up in between a fun workbook and an academic book. Which is important because it still got the idea of what the lesson was supposed to be about done without making it overly tedious which we all have, to be honest, some schools are now doing which is not helpful for kids when they're sitting down to learn.

I definitely would like to see a little bit more in the way of the workbook to be a little bit more expansive in the skill sets trying to teach.  For example, I would like to see them be able to practice some of the skills a little bit more then what they have in this book. And I would also like to be able to see a spelling or grammar test as well so that way parents can go get a better understanding and idea of what the children are sufficiently passing and what they need help and work on.

As a complimentary boo,k I think that this is absolutely fantastic and I love that it challenges the kids more to be able to have a much more well-rounded comprehensive Essentials program.

The other amazing part is that they were amazing and also emailing a copy of the workbook in case it didn't get to you in time so you can work on it so I thought that was incredibly fabulous and an indication of a good support team.

So overall I think this is a great program and you might come to find that your kid needs to work on certain aspects of their grammar but they are really good and other parts or areas of there schooling in our advanced. I definitely appreciate the overall wholeness of the program.

We actually really like this--- And as a parent, I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they have a physical workbook.
