Grit & Grace {Giveaway}

So, I am excited. It is not every day that you get to also have an in-depth passionate long decision with an author, review and giveaway their book!

Well, today...

Today is that day!

We ended up having a nice long conversation about many things but one of them had to do with the fact that I had seen these book in passing and that I am going to review it for them.

It has been dedicated to the Girl Scout who started the Raise Your Hand campaign, with mentions of many Scouters including that of the Girl Scout CEO Lidia Soto Harmon.

The tagline of the book is "Uncommon wisdom for inspiring leader designed to make you think."

You can go through the beginning of the book, and like a table of contents, you can search for who you want to read from or be inspired by.

Is it Amani Al-Khatahtbeh, Jane Goodall, Ellen DeGeneres, Marie Curie, Tina Fey, Queen Elizabeth, Taylor Swift, Clara Barton, Susan B Anthony, or right in our own backyard here in Washington DC, the DC Police Chief Alumni Cathy Lanier (if you live in Washington DC you definitely know who Cathy Lanier).

I am not even going to lie-- going straight for Cathy Lanier's over everyone else just because I got mega DC pride, right here. Wow. I never knew that Cathy Lanier was a single mum who was also a high school drop out and became not only the first DC Police Chief that was female but also one of the longest standings. Mega props to her. Then she goes on to work for the National Football League. She is a woman of incredible strength. But, I will also say this. I won't tell you the quote she did, so you can get the book and find out for yourself what she said!

I really think that this is a good book to inspire not just young girls but who also Inspire women out there. In a day in age where we are talking about redefining women's roles in society, it is nice to see that they're having a woman all along who have fought and who daily have inspirational sayings and stories to share.

I like that they use women of different ages and stages of life.  including women who are no longer alive. This just goes to show how powerful women have been since the dawn of time.

This makes for a great coffee table book and even because I homeschool I can use it to inspire my daughter to learn about different women from different periods and ages in history that have been empowering to their society and cultures. So really this book is for everybody let's just put it that way!

It is a great gift for any mother, daughter, sister, niece, friend or Girl Scout out there.

In fact, you can win this book right here on this blog and gift it to someone in your life.
