Girl Scout Troop 5823 at the US Department of State (Day of Instructions)

We have a once in a lifetime opportunity as Girl Scouts at the US Department of State on Friday!
I just received all the details below- so I am sharing them with you! Remember, this is only for girls that have registered already with Girl Scout Troop 5823 & have been confirmed in their registration for the event!

Thursday:

* Email any questions your girls may have to me so I can forward them to the right person by Thursday Afternoon. (See below).

* Email the photo release form by the end of Thursday IF you are emailing them to me so I can get them to the right person.

DAY OF:

* Please Arrive to the Leaders House by 1030am-1045am with a packed lunch, snacks, a book if you want, water bottle, metro card, and full uniform on please (white shirt, khaki pants, and I will provide your sashes to borrow). Arriving at this time allows for travelling by metro, accounting for any metro delays, etc.

* Bring Your Photo Release Forms if you haven't emailed them yet.

* Make sure your health forms are done/updated with the copy of the health insurance cards to the leader.

* If you are late, especially to the actual location, I can not guarantee entry as we do have to go through security. Remember, since we do have to go through security, what kind of items wouldn't be allowed in a state building!

* I will plan to metro with the girls in & to meet back up at my place afterwards where we will take the metro back. We will likely be back by 6pm.

* Here is the way we are going & where we are meeting up. Please arrive at my place as that is the best, easiest way to travel together -- If a parent is willing to drop us off, we have a little more leeway in time and will need seats for 6 of us. Metro is likely the easiest way to go.

Arriving to the Department of State by Metro
 • Due to minimal parking, we strongly encourage parents and students park at their nearest metro station and take the metro in.
• If using metro, get off at Foggy Bottom station as it is closest to the building.
• The Silver, Orange and Blue metro lines stop at Foggy Bottom
• Exit the station and turn right on 23rd street
• Continue on 23rd street for 4 blocks, entrance is on the left-hand side

Drop Off Instructions
 • Drop off on Virginia Ave.
• Walk to 23St St
• Turn left on 23st St
• Building on right hand side
