Critical Thinking Co- Detective

Hello, my name is Via. Today I will be reviewing Critical Thinking Detective Book 1
by
The Critical Thinking Co.™
. This is a booklet is supposed to help the person that is using it to learn critical skills that will help them with attention and focus to detail. An important note is that everything that the suspect's states are true. I will give you an example of one of the incidents in the book.

(WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!). The case that I will be showing is the lunch money thief. So let's start with reading all the clues. You now have it narrowed down to two suspects. Deanna Edwards and Jodi Morgan. You look at the clues again. Deanna said that she left the cafeteria with less than five dollars. Deanna also said that she was really hungry so she had a big meal today. She paid for it with the money in her pocket. The lunch money- a five dollar bill, belonged to Olga Clemmens. Morgan said that she had her own money and didn’t NEED to steal Clemmens money. She also said that she never thought Clemmens was a nice person, so she never had anything to do with her. So do you think you know who it is?

Both are still suspects. Morgan said she had her own money and didn’t NEED to steal Clemmens money. She didn’t need to do it but still could and might do so. She also said that she never thought Clemmens was a nice person, so she never had anything to do with her. Money is not a person. She still could have stolen the money without having anything to do with her. Deanna had paid with the money in her pocket. Do you know how it got in her pocket? There is one small bit of information that I have been keeping from you. After gathering all the information the police asked one of the suspects additional questions, and the girl confessed to the crime and handed them the stolen money. Deanna said that she left the cafeteria with less than five dollars. This means that if she had stolen the money that she would not have been able to give all of it back. Therefore the thief is Jodi Morgan. For some reason in the answer key in the back of the book the thief's name is Deanna.

What I liked about the book is even if that case is wrong it served its purpose: to help improve my thinking. Another thing I liked is that it has the great balance of being easy and being hard. It's challenging but fun at the same time. My favourite case is the chicken breast thief. This is because it is organized different than the other cases and is with animals and you have to take the witnesses word on everything.

I would make this on things I don’t like but I only have two complaints. 1. The booklet doesn’t last long. Its cool but short. 2. How they got the case above wrong. Those are the only things so the rest of this is the outro and who I would recommend this to. I would recommend this to kids 3rd - 6th grade because I think everyone could learn from this. So that's all, for now, I hope you like my review and I am rolling out. PEACE!
