Something that I absolutely love about this is that it teaches handwriting through actual learning-- which is exactly what I did on my own with my older son when he was younger. It is so important to learn better handwriting in the context of what they are already learning as well as independently.
What my son liked about this is that he didn't have to do lessons independently for each science and handwriting. They were combined. Just my kind of style.
Wish I could have seen more handwriting practice within the lesson but I can't say that it isn't easy to just be able to do that. It's pretty easy to add in an extra sheet to practice words learned in the lesson. That is what I used to do when I homeschooled without a given prescribed lesson plan.
When they are practising handwriting within a lesson, what the beauty of it that is built in, is that it's not just a plain old handwriting lesson. Which involves so much more, realistically, if we want them to learn to spell for life. It is tying it together with the vocabulary of the words they are spelling. And even more so, to be able to understand more context of the meaning of the word in a more deep way that gives way to a love of learning.
Boonie was great-- she sent a personal email. That gives it such an important personal touch. Especially when you are trying something new out.
Something else I loved about it is that she sent the direct links to download or view the lessons individually so you didn't have to go to a website and have to find it through a complicated system. Which I most definitely appreciated.
Overall, I really liked this and so did my son. He handwriting definitely improved.
