I Know It Math Practice

We are reviewing I Know It Math Practice as a family! After you read the review, you can scroll down to GET TWO MONTHS FREE or check it out here if you can't wait, to try this out for your family!

Each kid gets their own account and I get to go in and assign practices. I really like that they do easily visual instructions from the get go. This is a huge not only for the less-than-tech-savvy parent but also for any mum who is always on the go. Let's be honest, even us parents are becoming part of the visual generation when it comes to communication.

You have essentially two kinds of portals. The teacher portal and the student portal.

When you sign up you can choose to have your kids' grade level and math level be different. THIS IS HUGE. Because not all kids are at the math level that correlates with their age or grade. This is a tremendous feat over many other programs or curriculums out there!

They also can choose their own icons to be the avatar to log in. This is cool. My daughter likes there that isn't anything super girly. (A new phase for her).

The graphics are actually pretty good. With some programs you worry that you have to compromise internet load speed for good graphics but that was clearly not the case here. I am impressed as well. To load and do graphics for each of the games and to keep it clean and modern looking, it's not easy.

The actual questions are great too because they aren't just super easy questions or super hard questions. A lot of the time, when there is a unit assignment, there are sometimes questions that are hard for kids to answer. And that wasn't the case. So that is great because they can learn and be encouraged at the same time. This is why, actually, I took my daughter out of school and homeschooled her. Or one of the reasons. Testing should be a review of what was learned, not drilling for the military.

In fact, I bet you can use this practice as a "test" for your child, if you homeschool, (or if you teach, for your classroom) instead of some of the other testing models out there and achieve some of the same results!

TWEET IT!

I like that you can go in and view a lesson before assigning it. This is great because you know where your child is at with the math skills (usually) and can cater to what they need. However, in the same token, the fact that you have to do each lesson individually instead of assigning a unit is a pain in the butt because you have to do each one individually. However, again, this is not the worst thing in the world. This means you can cater what your kid does from what they learned the day before. This means that if you child or children can master two lessons, essentially, without doing both lessons.

Plus, you have to keep in mind that this is meant to be a supplemental practice and not a clear substitution for the real thing. Math lessons, that is. While this should be obvious, I just have to make sure that is clear since the online portion is not equal to teaching nor a replacement for it and the fact that it doesn't cover everything that needs to be covered for the year worth of math for a grade level.

That being said, it does a great overview and also is important for making sure that kids keep up with math skills.

So while this is a Homeschool Crew Review, it is really perfect for any child.

I would even especially say good for families that need that practice over the summer. I personally wish they went above K-5. But we really like the program a lot.

Via's Review:
Good animations. I could only do 25 questions in a day witch was frustrating. I like the way they show and portray it. It is excellent. anther thing I like is that it has little avatar pictures you can use. but something I don't like are that some of the questions are not clear enough for me to understand. it is a good website but it would be better if they took out the practise limit or just at least make the limit much bigger. I don't understand why they would have a learning tool( their website) for well... learning that would have a limit like that and the only way to not have that is to get an account in which you have to be older than eighteen to get?!?! why? if someone younger than eighteen is using the website and they need to study then what? Sorry you can't practise any more!?
