Win The College Girl's Survival Guide

"The BEST FOUR YEARS OF YOUR LIFE!"

Sounds amazing and daunting all in the same go, doesn't it? That is something that the writer points out from the get go. Like life before 18 or after 22 is minimal and insignificant.

At first I was interested in being able to give this book to my sister who is currently in college but after reading some of the book I decided that this book wasn't ideal for her because it did not necessarily a line with her faith beliefs and to be frank, she is way more wise than I was at her age to be able to have the balanced life in college (I, however, was of the more studious nature).

However, I think it is a great fit for a lot of college girls because regardless of any faith belief there's a lot of good sound advice in this book.  I like that she keeps it real in terms of the fact that college isn't going to be this highlight of your life and that all good things will happen and those four years will be the best years of your life.  Keeping it real is incredibly important because a lot of people going to college not just to get their degree or diploma but to find themselves as an adult and in doing so go along with the socio-cultural stereotypes of what college is or looks like; Being cool or going to a party rather than being studious and concerned with the future. That's not to say that you only do one or you only do the other it is merely to say that there has to be a balance.

I was actually very impressed that she included something that most books would not necessarily include for college girls especially ones of faith.  And what is that You may ask?

TWEET IT!
Well if we're being realistic the honest truth is that there are a few girls, and I pray it never be anyone I know or you know, experience sexual assault and rape of some kind in college and while not everyone experiences that it's really good to know what those resources are and that you're not alone.  So for her to include this in the book is a incredibly essential piece of information that gives me a higher level of respect for this author. Again she's keeping it real.

I love that she's honest about the pressures of college is well such as being overwhelmed or worrying about boys or about a sorority and she gives advice on how to deal with that. She goes into a lot of detail as well!

There are other things such as faith and other things that are of spiritual resonance that she touches on but it's not the key point of her book although she does back up some of what she says using a Christian perspective but I feel that it is such at a respectful level that regardless of what is.

I definitely feel that I can get a lot from this book and I would even try to say that it will change some girls' lives because for some girls who may not have the support that they need this book could give them a lot of helpful information to navigate college of little bit easier and I definitely feel like it could be a great Christmas present actually for that college girl in your life.

I would suggest that this book are seniors in high school all the way up to adult really because I know a woman who went back to college after she had her children and send them off to college themselves. So she essentially was going to college with her kids.  So anybody that is senior high school or above can get good piece of information from this book however I do feel like it's mostly geared towards college girls.

And the coolest part is that you could WIN THIS BOOK here right on my blog and you can get a copy and be able to gift it to someone special in your life either for Christmas or her birthday or for their own graduation present.
