Love Like That sounds like a great pop song-- doesn't it? This #1 New York Times Best Selling Author Dr. Les Parrott, strives to give 5 relationship secrets to help build any relationship.
When I think of reviewing books, I do like a challenge. And this one was super inticing because of the name of the book. But when I read the tag line "5 relationship secrets from Jesus" my want to jump on this book review was lessened. Mainly because I didn't know where the book was going to go with it. But I do think that sometimes the things that we learn from are not those that we always jive with so I decided, in turn, that would be a great book to review.
I really like the simple design of the cover, the fact that it's a hard back book, it reads well and easy. Though a few times I had to re read sentences because the grammar wasn't well done in a few spots.
MINDFUL. APPROACHABLE. GRACE-FULL. BOLD. SELF-GIVING.
#1 It has a personal quiz at the end of the chapter to gauge how mindful or graceful (or whatever the topic is, you are).
#2 While it does bring up the bible and Jesus, it does tell it like a learn able story instead of a condemnable unattainable piece of judgmental writing. This is incredibly huge because a lot of the times the books like these are written in a way that can actually highly turn people off from reading, even if they are hard core die hard Christians. But this isn't written like that at all.
#3 The goals and "relationship secrets" are very attainable, even if they are not easily done. They are skills that will turn around any relationship.
#4 The "Relationship secrets" aren't for only romantic relationship but any person to person human relationship. Regardless if it is in the work environment or in your family or even your neighbour.
I am very pleasantly surprised at how much I actually like this book and how easy of a read it is.
I give it 5 out of 5.
