I thought that this would be a fun Book 2 review because it looks like a good book. It also happens to be written by Kathie Lee Gifford who is one of the hosts of The Today Show with Hoda Kotb.
I like that the book's cover is hardcover and that's on the cover sleeve all the butterflies have glitter on them. Yes, I do like my glitter. If you had to get rid of the sleeve then the cover of the book so has the same image on it but without the glitter which is really awesome.
Even on the inside of the cover, it is not a plain scenery or plain colour, but a picture of walking through Central Park in autumn.
The illustrator Julia Seal also does a great job about making sure that the kids in the pictures are multiracial. But even more than that the illustrations are very well done with detail and colour.
The idea of this book is to let kids know that they have a special gift that was given to them from the time that they were born. Now, I like this because it is not just a Disney saying but it is very true that we are all different unique and have different gifts to offer to the world.
The book even ask them questions that every person child or adult asks about themselves in relation to the world which is "when will I know what my gift is", "how will I know to use it?" etc. Which is actually quite profound making this a good family book to read even if it's written as a children's book.
He also talks about gifts being something that can be grand or small and that they are also incredibly important. Often times we only associate the best gifts as being grand in nature and sometimes we forget that it is also the ones that are small that are the most profound.
Given that my child who also struggles with believing in God sometimes really likes this book shows that it can span across different religions faiths and groups. Therefore gets a 5 out of 5 for me.
Although, I do wish that there was more substance and further diving in that the book would do. Especially for the bigger book and not the baby/toddler book.

Here is her review:
Hello, my name is Via. Today I am reviewing THE GIFT THAT I CAN GIVE. The first order of business is the illustrator. Seal did an AMAZING job of illustrating. I fell in love with her simple but detailed artistic masterpiece. The world inside of the book popped and stuck in my mind. It was glorious.
The second order of business is the story. Most books like this one through the whole god thing in your face, but this book made it noticable but subtle. The rhyming is a nice touch so that it is easy to remember and makes it calm.
