A 365 Day Devotional for a Restoration Year

So I was read the title of "Restoration Year" and was super excited about being able to review this based on that. However, when I opened it, I started browsing random days in being able to gauge the overall feel for the book. I had to put the book down and then come back to it. At first glance, I would honestly have put this back and walked away if I were in a bookstore, and that is the honest truth. The pages I had landed on seemed like an incomplete idea or pushing faith in an evangelic way. However, as I kept randomly reading days, I was surprised that in between those, there were some good things to have to think about for myself.

Things I like about the book:
* hardcover
* beautiful cover design
* ribbon for keeping your spot built-in
* cover is a bit textured
* thick pages
* some good days that are useful and helpful
* You can gift it to someone with the front page which I like
* They didn't reference their own book that wasn't joint to the devotional (apparently they did they in another)

Things that I don't like about the book:
* As far as substance goes, some of it I do like, but for the most part, I have issues with some of what is being said because some of the days are more empty thoughts filled with scriptures
* Instead of broadening the expansion of what we know as restoration or becoming anew, this felt that it was more geared towards pure evangelism which isn't my style

I think this would be perfect for some of my family or friends and I will give this a more thorough shot throughout the year as I need a restorative year given that I will be newly and fully divorced. So I will need all the help I can get.

I give this book a 4 out of 5, not because I like the whole book but because there is a lot of potential even with a few days worth of devotional to help change self and thinking about the spiritual self and the physical self.
