I just had to review this book because I do believe that dreams mean something and I didn't think that most Christians saw this as something that was used by God/Lord to be able to speak to someone since, even though Mary was talked to by an Angel in her dream, that it has been seen by many Christians as the anti-Christian thing to believe in. This is what I grew up within some of the homes I was in, where they would frown upon you thinking that your dreams where nothing other than a mere unworthy sequence of images that had no real basis or was just a psychological effect of the day.
So when I saw this book, I just had to review it.
Here is the table of contents to give you an idea of what is in here:
1: God Speaks Through Dreams
2: The Biblical World of Dreams
3: The Source of Dreams
4: Dream Classifications
5: Scriptural Dream Codes
6: Cultural Dream Codes
7: Subjective Drea, Codes
8: Interpreting Dreams with God's Wisdom
9: Examples of Dreams & Interpretation
10: Application of Dream Revelations
11: Strategically Stewarding Your Dream Life
12: 20 Answers to Questions Every Dreamer Wants to Know
I was actually very surprised pleasantly with this book because it's like another take on the meaning of dreams and what I have read was just very interesting. Knowing that there are those of "hardcore conservative Christian" faith that believes this is ironically reassuring.
However, when talking about numerology, the author says that you must avoid new age numerology like the plague and only use the biblical version of numerology. I don't know why but that sounds hypocritical to me given that believing in signs is the party of the Christian faith. However, the "biblical take" on numerology is again another facet and is quite fascinating to me.
They even do symbology- which is very cool. Animals, trees, etc.
I do like that they link it with actual bible verses which gives more context too what they are saying.
They also go through dreams and interpretations of some of their dreams which is very interesting be because it's another way to think about dreams.
I give this book 5 out of 5.
Book Description
What is God saying to you in your dreams?
Decoding Your Dreams provides an in-depth explanation of the true source of our dreams, dream classifications, and even dream symbols.
There are dozens of mentions of dreams in the Bible. From Abraham to Joseph, from Daniel all the way to Pontius Pilot’s wife, God has communicated with His people through dreams throughout recorded history.
Why would God choose to speak to us while we sleep?
Perhaps it’s because we are too distracted during the day to sit still long enough for Him to share the deep secrets of His heart.
Jennifer LeClaire is convinced God speaks to us in ways that are very personal. At times he may use pictures, memories, impressions, or even a still small voice.
Let Decoding Your Dreams help you embrace your Spirit-inspired dreams!
