One thing that really drove me to want to review this book was the idea of living your purpose and I mean that in 40 days. We all struggle to find our purpose in life sometimes and when you're going to divorce like I am it makes it all that much more important to focus on that purpose in which I have gotten lost many times before.
For the cover, I really like that it has an artsy background and that it is hardcover.
And looking at the journal space in the book there's not really a whole lot of space to write your own thoughts at the end of the chapter which is a little discouraging but I like the definition of providing a space to do that.
I like that the days are short reads and that some of the questions that they ask in the response section are non-religious while some of them do have more religious tinges to them.
Some of the days are not easy to read and you need to go in and read it again which is rather frustrating especially if you're trying to read it in a hurry.
Also in terms of being able to find out what she's reference with the numbers it would be nice if she put the reference numbers at the bottom of the page itself so that way we don't have to go looking in the back of the book to go see exactly what she's trying to reference.
I really love that this helps to challenge your faith in a deeper way and it gets you to realize things that in everyday life you seem to forget to do or remember.
However, I definitely feel that this is more for the traditional Western Christian rather than being a book that is more for everyone to be able to challenge themselves although that being said I think that someone can read this book and get really good things out of it and that I definitely appreciate.
While it is also written to be able to be consecutive read from day one today 40 you can easily skip around different days if you wanted to and I think that's great as well.
Even though I am still trying to find when my faith lies myself I definitely believe in something bigger and I'm going to challenge myself to read this book and do this before 40 days in a more open way then just traditional Western Christian thought because I feel like there's a lot that is what this has to offer.
Overall I would give this book more of a four out of five and simply because it is not stylistically written in a way that can be the easiest to read but it could be I am pre-coffee. The biggest reason they give it a three or four also is because I feel that this book has a lot to offer and I feel that it could do more to reach people of a broader face audience even within Christianity and I do believe that this can help change someone's life or people's lives and that's a really great thing to have.
Book Description
Recognize your calling, find your place of service, and follow God to a life of purpose.
