YWCA Empower Steam Summer Camp 2019 is HERE...
And this time...
This time, they have upped the game!
They are taking 100 girls from the Washington D.C. Area for a FREE 5 WEEK CAMP!
This is not a gimmick! How can I tell you that?
My daughter participated last year and had an absolute blast! She was the youngest at the camp but was by no means the shiest or least participating.

They got to go on field trips like FlyZone & even a TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY! They got to go on the NASDAQ floor which is normally closed off to the public.
And dare I say, run by some very dedicated amazing women who I am proud to call friends!

Highlights for 2019 EmpowerSTEAM:
- Exploring aerial robotics and drone-based businesses
- Learning the role of math in amusement park design – girls will build a (mock) rollercoaster!
- Creating mobile applications – go from concept to prototype, learning basic programming along the way
- Discover science in medicine – from physiology to exploring health science careers
EmpowerSTEAM also focuses on college exploration. Participants will enjoy a regional college tour during the final week of camp. Tour stops highlight the best programs for women in STEM in our region.

Tips!
* Have your application completely filled out! It is likely they will get more applications than they have spots for!
* Ask questions if you need to when filling out-- they are amazing and so sweet (trust me).
* See if a friend can go with your daughter-- it helps so she has a friend to go with but also when there is a pick-up issue, that you & that parent can help each other out with pick up!
* Please don't apply if you can't have your child do the whole program (minus a few days).
* You can use your child(ren)'s health forms for her school for medical forms
* Have your child's health insurance card ready, and even better a copy of it!
* Make sure to get the permissions of your emergency contacts!
The New York Trip Take Off-- this was my daughter's FIRST trip away like that EVER! And she had a BLAST!
