So, in taking a look at the book and the study guide, I would have to say that the book I feel is much more helpful for me in some ways in the site guide is. I'm going to take the words of my children into perspective and agree with them hear that the study guide is more biblically meaning. Which is fine but it means that there's less room to really explore what I think the benefits can be; That I can have if it was a more open-ended kind of study
I will say that God is still very helpful for me but I have to reorient how I ask the questions to myself to be able to answer in a way that I feel I can genuinely and authentically answer them.
If you are hardcore into a faith of biblical standing in the ways that some Christians are then you will be able to flourish with this book and it will very much help you without any conflict of faith.
It was still so helpful for me because I was able to look at myself and be able to ask myself some very real questions that I hadn't thought about it while. So this book was sold to me and even helpful for me. Even in the context of being able to try to look at things a little bit differently for myself and for others.
The book I feel is better in a lot of ways than the study guide/journal. I'm able to read it and I can understand more behind what she's trying to say or get you to see or read within the same guidelines. The journal is harder for me because it is asking about specific biblical phrases and get you to be able to go more biblically deep. To be honest, in a lot of ways I like this book but it's not that I don't believe in God... it's just that the Bible has been something I have struggled with since I can remember. I guess they say that you can look at it and if you feel like you understand the Bible from the get-go thing or not understanding it all. Regardless if that's true or not I definitely feel that I still got a lot from it.
I would give the book four stars because it is well written. It gets you to think outside the box and it makes you have to look more inward.
I would give the study guide 3 out of 5 stars because I felt that as someone who believes in God but struggles with the Bible it make it harder for me to be able to answer a lot of the questions without having a shift how to have you the question in my mind to be able to answer it.
Now if I were to put the two scores together this would mean I would give the set of three and half out of five but it does not mean that it is a bad set. I think everyone could still get a lot from it so I definitely encourage it into it because I guarantee that you'll be able to learn something from it.
