The way the that the program is designed for this, is that it is not only adaptive, it helps move the lessons forwards or backwards for students needing it which of course requires a premptive test that will help place them into the right lessons.
My daughter was less than thrilled about this and she absolutely hated that it was timed. I can respect that actually. And I also see how doing test timing is important too.
You can use this on the app or the computer in which we did the computer.
I love the idea of the way they structured their lessons because it is not meant to be a one size fits all. Even if a child can do overall mastery of any given grade level or unit, being able to fill in the gaps in super important in being able to make that that the building blocks that are laid down now are built upon in a beautiful way for when they go to middle school. So yes, this is a programme meant for Kinders to 6th grade.
Since the programme is completely automated by the testing results, it means that you can not choose the lessons which most definitely has its downfalls. But overall, the structure is meant so it builds on top of each other before moving on.
I felt like it is a great programme and the ideals of this programme fit into what I feel that education should be likely PERFECTLY. However, I did feel that giving a few minutes per question including questions that are hard for even adults to solve in their heads in a few minutes, made it more difficult for my daughter to complete.
As we continue to use this programme, I look forward to her being able to better her skills, timed or not. I do believe that this showed my daughter that timing is important and that it gives us something to work on even outside of math. Because test anxiety is a very real thing and I do believe now that she does struggle with that.
Via's Review::
A+ Interactive Math is what I will be reviewing with you today. Hey, I'm Via and I'm going share this amazing program with you so let's begin. A+ Interactive Math Is a math program that is made so it adjusts to you and help you learn what you don't know. I think it is a little confusing finding your way around the website. I did a few ways I can’t explain B\but basically TutorSoftInc is like having your own personal teacher and I really like that because not only is it interactive, it has words & visuals so that you can easily know what they're trying to teach you. It's got step by step learning that almost anyone can learn easily even though I know it can be a little bit frustrating.
This paragraph is about what I didn’t like about the program. everything's just really confusing in the program and I can't really understand what I should or shouldn’t do is hard to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing in the first place. I also don't like the way it's timed. Not that it is timed but the way it is was confusing for me to find out. When I first started it up, I was not able to get into the tutorial and that was really frustrated because I didn't know what anything was and it kept sending me back.
Some things I think that will improve the program A+ Interactive Math which are: making it things a little bit more obvious what they are, adjusting the time a little bit so that it's easier to work with because sometimes the time is too easy to work with or too hard, and to make it so that you can go through quickly that if you're in rush then you can do it much faster than you do currently. One last thing that I don't like is that they don't show you as a student how many questions there are which is just a little bit frustrating if you want to know how long it might take. That's the review I hope you like and until next review, I will see you next time!
