Think Better Live Better {Giveaway}

To be honest, my first impression of Joel Osteen is just as a television Minister, which is not something I was completely interested in reading from his works because it's a little pop religious. When you see someone on the TV screen so many times and you can tell that they are ministering some decent things but they also are relishing a little bit in between the fame but also the superficial vainness, that seems to be a big part of their lives, it can be hard to take them seriously.

However, I feel like in reading this book I actually got a lot from it. The reason for this being is because even though I have struggled with a lot of things in my lifetime thus far, some of the things that he talks about are completely relevant and very powerful that everyone needs to hear. Regardless of religious affiliation.

I think the idea of going to reset ourselves is this really incredibly important idea. And it just may be the time of life I'm in but I really want to be able to hit not just a reset button but re up button.

And a lot of things that I feel that I have struggled in he hits point on.

In this review, I'm going to break down reviewing each of the three elements of not only this series but also this giveaway. It is the book, the journal and the study guide.

I will say that I had my two older children do this with me and read on their own and do the questions and we talk about them together. Because I feel like with them being pre-teens, it's important to know and grow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Giveaways!

Book:
The book has some really good tips in it. My son even thinks that the book is better than the guide and the journal.

I think I hit some points that a lot of people who have been through hard times in their life can actually relate to and be able to utilise in their lives. I will say that not everyone is going to find this book helpful because if you don't struggle in self-doubt or if you don't struggle in the internal process or how you feel about yourself and this is not the book for you. I have a friend that definitely didn't see the value in the book the way I did, which is interesting considering I have been skeptical from the start about this book. (I find that starting off that way allows me to see some truth in the review process more clearly).

Study Guide:
I like this much better than I do the journal by far. It asks really important leading questions that really needed to address and internalize what he was saying in the book.

Some of the questions that might be a little bit more on the religious side, if you aren't as religious, you kind of have to reorient your brain around to be able to fully get out of it a neutral answer that isn't totally completely religiously-based. Which I feel is incredibly important because you want to make sure that the you that you're changing into is you that you're meant to be and not you that is based on a religious philosophy solely. In this process, this was important to me and my kids. And it wasn't hard to do. What I mean by this is that faith can waiver and if you are changing better as a person, you want to make sure that is a person that is forever changed and not solely based on your faith alone. This means that you're looking at it from the perspective of being able to change as a person and not necessarily being able to change solely for religious purposes.

The questions were incredibly helpful and I found them to be super helpful and enlightening for me, on a soul level, not on a religious level. So I was super grateful for that.

Journal:
The journal can be looked at similarly to the study guide in that it can be a little bit redundant from the study guide. It is less oriented to direct questioning. I feel like it can be helpful but at the same time I feel like the journal can be a spot where you got  your thoughts out any less direct question answer way.

So some people, in my opinion, may like one version over another in terms of what they will get out of the study guide versus the journal. I think most people will have a preference leaning one way or another.

I would say that the journal can be a good follow-up to doing the study guide too but should not be done at the same time otherwise you get a lot less out of it. I would even say that you can use the book as a step modulator. Start with a book then go to the study guide and then a week after you've had time to practice it go to the journal.

Overall and surprisingly I give this set a four out of five stars which are really big for me. The journal I'm not totally digging but the book in the side I feel like I have some very valuable information that can help a lot of people psychologically become better and to think better of themselves.
