Wulf the Saxon

We have come to love audiobooks in this house. So we are reviewing Wulf the Saxon by Heirloom Audio Productions

To be honest, I call audiobooks either a saviour to mums everywhere or a parenting win. Either way, it's a win, am I right?

Now, this company always have had top-notch audiobooks that make the books come alive. And moreover, history come alive. I put this compact disc into my TV while I am doing other things so the kids can have an audio literature lesson after coming back from a dentist visit (and the first cavity amongst my kids). So starting off slow is necessary today. Plus, after this, I am getting ready for Girl Scouts and avoiding eating all the cookies in my living room right now... Ha ha.

But the audiobook is soooo good that I keep turning to see the movie instead of the audiobook. The audio book is done so well you can see it clearly.

So the audiobooks we have reviewed are these (with the Old Schoolhouse Homeschool Review Crew): Reign of Terror & The Cat of Bubastes.

I have to say, that this is one of the tops. I think this is right up there with The Cat of Bubastes for me personally. It may be because it is more taking place in Europe

Here is the cast and crew of Wulf of Saxon here: And hearing Brian Blessed as GA Henty is a welcome voice who narrates the story well. There are many cast members that bring this story to life in the most beautiful way.

In fact, I would say that the entire family will love this audiobook. Maybe this would be a great way to get addicted to audiobooks!

You get taken on an adventure back in year 1065, where Wulf starts off young and grows tremendously through battlefields, friendships, becoming a landholder, & serving his people. There are themes of overthrowing, medieval kings, engagements and questions about a pure English blood engagement, countries divided (and a new one formed), amongst other things.

Also, the accents are a plus! (I am just saying).

Here is what my daughter Via thought!

"A detailed and complex audio masterpiece is what shall be said about wulf the saxon. As the audio goes on you put yourself in position of wulf and as you experience it you get a good sense of adventure and go root for the main character.

G.A. HENTY really hit it off with this amazing story and I give my truest thoughts about it. in teaching a lesson and making it fun and adventures I think that this is one of no not one this is MY FAVORITE audio of all time.I would recemend it to so so so many people that I would just not be able to count because this is so great."

Here is what my son, Kai, a first grader, thought!

" It was a good story and it was funny. Really funny. What I learned about from it was kingdoms and dungeons. It was a classic story. I like it because it was classic. I really like classic stories. And cool stories. The details of the story are like really really mysterious. There are some parts that were really confusing. It was super entertaining. I liked what it sounded like. I really liked the Reign of Terror, so I really liked this one too. "

As you can see, my kids' reviews definitely reflect their grade level but one thing is for sure... This is a great additional add to our family audio library which is now compromised of mostly GA Henty audiobook stories!
